名古屋出入国在留管理局（名古屋市）で３月に亡くなったスリランカ人女性の遺族と面会する意向
上川陽子法相は１８日の閣議後の記者会見で、収容先の名古屋出入国在留管理局（名古屋市）で３月に亡くなったスリランカ人女性の遺族と面会する意向を示した。「心からのお悔やみを申し上げたい」と述べた。
遺族は現在、来日中で、１７日には名古屋入管を訪問している。
出入国在留管理庁は入管側の対応が適切だったか、調査を進めている。上川法相はこれまで調査を指示している立場にあるとして、遺族との面会に否定的だったが、１８日の会見で「（遺族が）異国の地で肉親を亡くされ、大変苦しいご心境であると痛切に感じている。法相としてではなく、一人の人としてお会いしたい」と述べた。
